How can i verify a sweepstakes award "first installment" check?
THE BANK SHOULD BE ABLE TO VERIFY WHETHER THE CHEQUE IS VALID OR IF THAT BANK IS REAL.
BEST BET IS TO READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE CHEQUE AND OTHER DOCUMENTS,
LOOK FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY SUGGEST OTHERWISE.
Reply:It is most likely fraud. Did you enter a sweepstake???? I didn't think so. I am a bank manager and see this all the time. If you deposit the check it will be returned. and if you sent the "processing fee" you will be out of the money. Why would you need to pay a processing fee to collect a sweepstake prize. Why would they just take it out of the funds that they sent you.
Trust me it is fraud.
