I just recieved a letter telling me that I did not win but as a consolation they have sent products I can buy at a less cost.Please let me know before I take one more step with this.

You lost. If you have to purchase or pay anything for any prize you are not winning but are being asked to make a purchase. You never have to pay for something you win. It is a scam. Re-read what you've written here and think on it.

I WOULD JUST SHRED IT UP TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.
