Reply:Let me tell you this..I received a REAL $4,750.75 check from these people..I checked into it..IT IS NOT LEGIT! the account is closed. When I called the # on the letter, they were having tech difficulties... (or so i was told.) I explained to them that I called the bank and what they had told me about the closed account..they quickly replied that they were in the process of opening a new account..this is sooo bogus..but the check was real! The check was also sent to me with the letter stating that I won 250,00.00 and the 4,750.75 check was to pay insurance on it..but don't you think that if that were true, they would have sent it by registered mail?..and trust me I went through a moment of ,,,IS THIS REAL?..also, but then reality sets in and my first thought was...I didn't play a lottery or sweepstakes,so just be careful %26amp; trust ur instincts!
Reply:I received the same check, anyone want to talk details about the check so we can find out if it's legit....
Reply:I also received a check from Splash Worldwide Sweepstakes the other day and like others, I would like to know more of what it's about. The check appears real.
Reply:I dont know either, i got the check today, it seems real, the company the check came from and the bank are real, i just dont know if this is real
Reply:they put u in a lottery and send u a fake check
Reply:I recieved a check in the mail from splash worldwide sweepstakes. Did you ever go and deposit the check and buy the insurance? I don't know if I should trust it or not. We are in the middle of verifing funds with the bank on the check. I don't know. They told me not to give any bank info what so ever. Let me know what you found out.
Reply:I RECIEVED A CHECK FROM THIS COMPANY 2 DAYS AGO THAT I TOHUGHT WAS REAL TURNS OUT THE ACCOUNT YOUR MONEY IS SUPPOSED TO COME FROM IS CLOSED ITS ALL A DIRTY SCAM
Reply:i just received the same letter and check for $4,750.75 on saturday.

As they say, seems too good to be true. Even though I had a fortune cookie two days ago that said, money was coming my way in a couple of days.

I was going to check on the account the check is drawn on monday. The company checks out, WEINGART CENTER ASSOCIATION. INC. Now to see if the account is still active.

But to get a letter from canada seems a bit odd, to say the least. It stinks of rotten fish if you ask me. Even if there was a twinge of exceitment when I first opened the letter.
Reply:I also received a check from Splash Worldwide Sweepstakes and would like to know more of what it's about. The check looks real.
Reply:i too got a check and thought to good to be true.called the bank to check on account was told all information on check was correct but the account was closed in June 2007....no funds available....decided to call the person check drawn on Johnson, spading,Doyle, west and Trent , llp in Houston Texas and was told Splash Worldwide Sweepstakes some how got a hold of there account information and ran all the information on real bank stock.....these checks are completely worthless due to this account being closed and the FBI,secret service and the district attorney in Texas has known about this for a bit.my suggestions would be to turn this over to your local law enforcement and have them look into it and they will see that other law agencies are involved.....also this company in out of Canada good luck with everyone getting these people...scam 1 is to deposit the check and in a couple of days you will receive a letter stating where to send a certified bank check to receive your sweepstakes of $250,000.00....scam 2 is to get certified funds and send them and when the check you deposited comes back account closed you are responsible for the monies if your bank fronted the money to you before the check really cleared!!!!!!!
Reply:This has to be a scam. My 18 year old brother received the letter for $250, 000 too and I just called on his behalf to verify and they gave me some boloney that the check was valid and i should deposit it into a bank account.

When I asked them for a document establishing proof of validation on the check containing a legit address and person the guy started coughing on the phone and talking under his breath. This has got to be another ways to become a victim of Identity Theft.

Do not cash it or deposit it into your accounts.
Reply:i also recieved a check for 4,750.75 and found out that this is a scam and i called them and was told the funds were ready for me to use but since the bank hold check for 10 day to call her back with bank information. what is going on with these people and how can we stop them?
Reply:I heard of this. I checked the BBB and no complaints are against this company. Have you heard anything back yet? If you don't mind me asking, what did your letter say?
