I just dont know if this is legit
Has any one ever heard of Capital One Services Inc... I recieved 4800.00 from them in a sweepstakes drawing?
If all you got was the check and they have asked nothing further from you then I would say have fun with the $4,800. But if they contact you back and say that the $4,800 was a mistake, or that you have to pay them to cover the taxes on it, then it's a scam.
Reply:Did you buy a ticket to a sweepstake? No. So why would you EVER imagine a company would out of the blue give you money? Ask yourself, what's in it for them? Answer - nothing!
Of course this type of thing is a scam. Use your reasoning power - did you ever get a free lunch in life?
Reply:it isnt...ignore it.

Reply:Sounds wrong to me. Did you enter a sweepstakes?
Reply:This is a very common scam that's going around right now. That check is fraudulent. When you deposit it, they ask you to wire them money for taxes or service fees. A few days later, the check bounces, you are out the money you wired them, and you are liable to the bank for depositing a fraudulent check.

Reply:Unfortunately, there is a TON of fraud out there. If you received money from a company you never heard of or a sweepstakes you never entered, BE WARY.
If you have questions, talk to your bank. They have the technology to verify the check. They will probably make a few phone calls to the alleged issuing bank. They may even ask you to deposit the check, then place an extended hold on it while it goes through the system. Your bank cares for your financial welfare and will take measures to make sure you're not a victim of fraud.
Reply:Id say its a scam, have you got a CC with them or a bank account??
