I got a letter in the mail saying I had one $250,000
and a check for $2975 for insurance. when I called the number provided he said that the insurance was because they were an out of counry company and once I deposited the check and then bought the insurance they would deliver the $250,000 check by courier within 48 hours. Is this a scam?? and if so the check looks real and was issued by Wachovia so can I scam the scammers and just cash it so they can't steal my identity?
Polygon international sweepstakes scam?
Scam, Scam, Scam. Well if you try to cash or deposit the check more than likely it is a counterfeit and you will be held accountable and liable by your bank.
lol Do what I always do when I received such a joyful tease from these types of idiots. Tell them to take it out of your winnings and send you the rest. Funny thing is they never me the rest.
Reply:Its is a scam. Don't send them anything. They will take your money and ...uh, well, laugh all the way to their bank.
First... did you enter their sweepstakes? Nothing is free.
It is a scam.
Reply:these scams happen all the time, as for scamming them it's possible but i dunno if the risk is worth it since u might be held liable as well, i do remember reading some people scamming scammers themselves at http://scamsbeware.com in their forum if u wanted to take a look at it best wishes.
Reply:This is definitely a scam. It is too good to be true and I don't think you will get anything after sending your check. You may receive their check but it will bounce. Why can't they simply deduct $2,975 as tax from your winnings and send you the balance? Take a look at this source and see those variations of lottery winning notifications.
Reply:Do not cash that check!!!I got a check that looked like a real Wachovia check and know I am paying the price!!! You do not want to have to pay back the 2,975.00.
Reply:big scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Check out!!!!!!!!!!!
